Terms of use.
The rules for using Ranked, in plain language. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them and to the community guidelines.
Who runs Ranked
Ribhav Jain operates Ranked from New York City, New York, United States. Ranked is a free film-ranking app. It has no purchases, subscriptions or advertising.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older to create or use an account. Use your own account, give accurate sign-up details and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
Your content
Your lists, scores, reviews, posts, replies, profile details and photos stay yours. So that Ranked can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, display and distribute that content inside Ranked and in any cards or links you choose to share. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people already saved and backups that expire on their own schedule.
Only post content you have the right to post. Your content publishes as soon as you post it; nothing is reviewed in advance.
Copyright and other rights
Don’t post content that infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights, such as a review copied from somewhere else or a photo you don’t have permission to use. We remove material when we receive a valid notice, and we close the accounts of repeat infringers. Our copyright policy explains how to send a notice or a counter-notice.
What isn’t allowed
No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, spam, impersonation, illegal content, or anyone else’s private information. Don’t scrape, overload or try to break into the service or other people’s accounts. The community guidelines say more.
Zero tolerance for abuse
There is no place on Ranked for objectionable content or abusive people. Report a post, reply, review or profile from its menu, and block anyone from their profile. Ribhav Jain reviews reports daily. Content that breaks these terms is removed, and the accounts behind it can be restricted or removed without notice. An account that appears to belong to someone under 18 is deleted.
Your account
You can delete your account at any time in You → Settings → Privacy → Delete account. Here’s what deletion removes. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or when we have to by law.
Badges
Badges are earned in the app: Ranked Pro by inviting friends who rank, and Founding ranker and Opening week by ranking films. They have no cash value and can’t be bought, sold or transferred.
Films, trailers and other services
Film data and images come from TMDB. Ranked uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB. Streaming availability comes from JustWatch through TMDB and can be incomplete.
Trailers play through YouTube’s embedded player. Watching one means you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google handles that data under the Google Privacy Policy. Links to streaming services and other websites take you outside Ranked, where their own terms apply.
No warranty
Ranked is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise that it will always be available, error-free or accurate, including scores, recommendations and streaming listings. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content other people post. Nothing here limits rights you have under laws that can’t be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms as Ranked changes. The date above shows the current version, and important changes are announced in the app or on this page. Using Ranked after a change means you accept the new terms.
