Beli for movies.
Ranked ranks films the way Beli ranks restaurants. You say roughly how a film landed, choose between it and films you’ve already ranked, and your list puts itself in order with a score for each place. Friends see where you put it. Ranked is an iPhone app, and it ranks shows on a separate list.
What works the same
- A rough sort first. Beli asks whether you liked a place, thought it was fine or didn’t like it. Ranked asks for a lane: All-timer, Really good, Fine, Not for me or Disliked it.
- Then comparisons. Both apps put the new entry against ones already on your list until it lands in place.
- No number to type. The score comes from the order your choices build.
- Friends at the centre. You see where friends put the same place, or the same film, beside your own.
Where they differ
| Feature | Beli | Ranked |
|---|---|---|
| What you rank | Restaurants, bars and cafés | Films, and shows on a list of their own |
| The first sort | 3 reactions | 5 lanes |
| The score | Out of 10 | Out of 5, switched on once 10 films are on your list |
| Other people’s numbers | Friends’ scores beside your own | Friends’ scores beside your own, and the Ranked score once 10 people have placed a title |
The fair criticism, and how lanes help
Ranking apps get one complaint more than any other: some comparisons feel unfair. A tasting menu against a food truck. A three-hour epic against a comfort comedy.
Ranked keeps a head-to-head inside one lane, so a new film meets films you felt about the same way. If two are too close to choose between, say so and move on.
Start in a few minutes
- Open Rapid Ranked and tap up to 10 films and shows you’ve seen.
- Give each one a lane.
- Answer a few head-to-heads. Your list puts itself in order.

Questions
- Is there a Beli for movies?
- Beli itself is for restaurants. Several apps rank films the same way, by comparing a new one with ones you’ve already ranked. Ranked is one of them, for iPhone, and it ranks shows on a list of their own too.
- Is Ranked made by Beli?
- No. Ranked is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Beli.
- Why are Ranked scores out of 5 and not 10?
- Five lanes, five points. Each lane owns a band of the scale, from Disliked it near 0 to All-timer at 4.5 and above, and a film’s place in its lane sets where in that band it lands.
- Can I see my friends’ scores, like on Beli?
- Yes. On a film’s page your score sits beside your friends’ scores and the Ranked score, and every friend has a taste match showing how closely their list lines up with yours.
- Do I have to start from nothing?
- No. Ranked can import your Letterboxd, Netflix or IMDb history, so the films you’ve already logged are waiting, ready to rank.
